Jewetts of America - Frank Leonard Jewett

A Record of Edward Jewett, of Bradford, West Riding of Yorkshire, England, and of his two emigrant sons, Deacon Maximilian and Joseph Jewett, Settlers of Rowley, Massachusetts, in 1639 also of Abraham and John Jewett, Early Settlers of Rowley, and of the Jewetts who have settled in the United States since the year 1800.
5783 REV. FRANK LEONARD JEWETT (Harveyx2x0, Nathan162x, Joseph M.767, Benjamin2xx, Benjaminxx, Nehemiah1x, Joseph4, Edward1), was born on a farm in Eastern Central Kansas Oct. 18,1874. He married in Horton, Kan., Sept. 14, 1904, Catherine Margaret Caughey, who was born in Rock Island, Ill. April 18, 1876, daughter of Hugh and Elise (Weyerhauser) Caughey. Mr. Jewett was educated in the country schools and high school, after which he graduated from the State University of Kansas with the degree of A. B. In 1900 he received the degree of B. A. from Harvard College; the degree of B. D. from the University of Chicago in 1902 and in 1903 the degree of S. T. B. from Harvard. Soon after leaving Harvard he took charge of the Christian Church in Columbus, Kan., where he remained until he accepted the work of the Texas Bible Chairin the fall of 1905, in the University of Texas.
