Jarvis was born in 1728.  Jarvis' father was Joseph Jackson Sr. and his mother was Ann Jarvis.  His paternal grandparents were Ralph R. Jackson and Leah Neal or Williams.  He was the oldest of seven children.  He had four brothers and two sisters, named Joseph, John, Congrave, Dempsy Carroll, Anna and Hannah.  He died at the age of 74 on June 28th, 1802.
