Delia was born in 1882.  Delia's father was James R. Gentry and her mother was Minerva Asbell.  Her maternal grandparents were James Asbell and Paulina Bicknell.  She was the second of five children.  She had two brothers and two sisters, named Swinfred, Winfred, Dovie and Rusia.  She died at the age of 88 in 1970.
