Edna was born in 1921.  Edna's father was Samuel Denny and her mother was Nettie M. Azbill.  Her maternal grandparents were William Sherman Azbill and Mahalia Jane Azbill.  She is the fifth of eight children.  She has six brothers and a sister, named Elmer, Roy, Ora, Charley, Billy, Wendall and Beth.
