Joseph was born on May 6th, 1824.  Joseph's father was Robert Buckles and his mother was Sarah Bicknell.  His maternal grandparents were John Bicknell and Mary Polly Hulen.  He was the youngest of five children.  He had four sisters named July A., Maria, Sarah and Reuhamy.  He died at the age of 80 on May 13th, 1904.
