John Reed was born in 1904.  John Reed's father was John Andrew Bicknell and his mother was Mollie Adkinson.  His paternal grandparents were Hiram Ali Bicknell and Mornen Kelley.  He was the third of six children.  He had three brothers and two sisters, named Ader Green, Robert O., Hiram G., Annie E. and Elizabeth.  He had two half-brothers and eight half-sisters, named Reed, H. G., Bessie, Lena, Cintha, Lucy, Minerva, Etta, Elmona and Provie.  He died at the age of 68 on December 28th, 1972 in , Madison, KY, USA.
