David was born in 1893.  David's father was Elihu Bicknell and his mother was Cynthia M. Gentry.  His paternal grandparents were Hiram Ali Bicknell and Mornen Kelley.  He was the youngest of eight children.  He had a brother and six sisters, named Elby, Lillian, Stanley Margaret, Maud, Nanie, Bettie and Mary Effie.  He died at the age of 63 in 1956.
