Alfred was born on November 17th, 1794.  Alfred's father was John Bicknell and his mother was Mary Polly Hulen.  His paternal grandparents were Samuel Bicknell and Anne Parks.  He was the oldest of twelve children.  He had six brothers and five sisters, named Mumford, Micajah, John, Samuel, William, James, Sarah, Polly, Nancy, Melinda and Millie.  He died at the age of 50 on March 9th, 1845.
