Charles was born in 1884.  Charles' father was Malon Baker and his mother was Mahalia Etta Azbill.  His maternal grandparents were Albin M. Azbill and Margaret Serena Cruise.  He was the youngest of five children.  He had two brothers and two sisters, named Melville, Wilson, Delphia and Nettie.
