Alex was born in 1869.  Alex's father was Palestine P. Asbill and his mother was Elizabeth Gravett.  His paternal grandparents were Joseph Asbill and Melinda Emaline Bicknell.  He was the youngest of four children.  He had a brother and two sisters, named Role, Emalinda Katherine and Mildred Frances.
