Nancy was born in 1849.  Nancy's father was Wiley Benjamin Asbell and her mother was Balinda Bennet.  Her paternal grandparents were William Asbell and Alah Cecille Van Winkle.  She was the second of five children.  She had two brothers and two sisters, named Bennett, Henry, Malissa and Alice.
