- McCracken Simon, a baker, may have been the Symon who was baptized 25 April 1613 in the parish church of Barnstaple, Devon, as fouirth child of John Mill by hi swife Wilmott Frenshe, who wre married there 28 Aug. 1606, as shown by Miss Eunice M. Lamb. the date of the marriage of Simon Mills to Mry Buell is recorded at Windsor as 23 Feb. 1659/60, which is probably correct, as the births begin about a year afterwards, but for some reason not explained, Mattehw Grant enters the date as 23 Feb. 1656 (i.e. 1656/7). simon Mills had married his first wife Joan, maden name not discovered, on 11 Oct. 1639 and she died at Windsor on 5 July 1659, without having given birth to any child, so that Simon was free to marry a second wife on the date given above.
