  • Picture Notes
In a very rough sea caused by a sudden storm a pleasure boat with nine people on board capsized and threw the occupants into the sea at Jaywick, Essex, on August Bank Holiday 1932. Cyril E Locks and a friend swam to a moored boat and rowed to the people in the water. They were able to save eight lives. Unfortunately, one man died from a heart failure before arriving on the shore.
