Bessie's occupation was She attended Dufferin Public School & later Owen Sound Collegiate & Vocational Institute. In 1935 she entered Nurses Training at the Salvation Army Grace Hospital in Windsor and graduated in 1938 with her R.N. Degree. In 1939, she answered a call to be night supervisor at the Army's Catherine Hospital in Montr4eazl and after two years returned to Owen Sound to care for her ailing mother until her death in February 1941. During these days Bessie nurxed at the Owen Sound Generazl & Marine Hospital until her marriage to Harold Stuck on June 3, 1942. Early in their married life they lived in ottawa, Saskatoon & Wimmipeg by the commands of Harold's postings with the R.C.A.F. When they returned to Owen Sound in 1947, Bessie was active in the Corps as a Sunday School Teacher, Y.P. Treasurer, Corps Treasurer, Songerter, & Soloist. Her days were busy as a nurse for Dr. Hauch's office until 1973, when she joined the "family business" J. James and Daughters, until it ceased operation in 1986 after 80 years of serving the community.. Belonged to the Salvation Army all her life. Was in the Choir. Sang Sprano.
