Michael Daniel and Ellen were married in a religious ceremony in 1840 in Douro, Peterborough, Ontario.1 They had eight sons and five daughters, and also a child of unknown gender, named Admiral, Thomas F., Bushy, Michael, Patrick Francis, Robert Andrew, William, John Henry, Mary Jane, Nellie, Lizzy, Elizabeth, Maggy and Baby.
