Ferdinand Phinizy

  • Ferdinand Phinizy was "one of the wealthiest and most respected citizens" of GA, according to the report of his death in the Atlanta Constitution. His wealth was from the GA Railroad. At his death he was the President of the Southern Express Co. He attended the Franklin College of the University of Ga. in Athens, his "career as a student marked with diligence and honor." He graduated in the Class of 1838. (Dr. Tucker Irvin, see elsewhere, was in this class.)
