Colonel William Glascock

William was born on May 28th, 1730 in Fauquier, Virginia Colony. He died at the age of 63 in 1793 in Augusta, Richmond co, GA. He was buried in Glascock fam plantation, Augusta, Richmond co, GA.

General Notes
- He served in the French & Indian war 1754-1763 as Lt under his cousin Capt William Glascock.
  Moved to Dinwidde Co by 1762 then to Ga with 20 slaves and reputation as an able lawyer.
  Was acting Gov. of Ga during the Rev. His name was on the British list of Proscribed Rebels
  in 1780. Was speaker of the House of the Ga. Assembly in 1780. Was host to Pres Washington
  when he made a state visit to Ga on May 18, 1791. Is buried at his home, "Glascock's Wash",
  4 miles below Augusta, Ga
