    Isaac Davenport, father of Francis, was born in Burlington Co., NJ in 1693, the son of Francis Davenport, a devout Quaker immigrant who was a Sheriff of Burlington County and on the Council of Proprietors of West Jersey in the late 1600's, and serving one year as President of the Council, and his third wife, a widow, Mrs. Rebecca (Whitten) Decou.
