Teh following notice from the Greensburg paper under date of April 18, 1935
may be of interest to near relatives: "Funeral services for Mrs. Ella
Stauffer Lane, wife of City councilman W. Scott Lane, of Greensburg, who
died yesterday at the age of 72, will be held from the Lane home, 502 North
Maple Avenue, at 2:30 o'clock, Monday afternoon. Teh deseased was a
daughter of the late Abraham K. and Katherine Slonecker Stauffer. For many
years the Stauffers lived on a farm near Scottdale before moving here, where
Mrs. Lane was born. Mr. and Mrs. Lane were residents of Greensburg for more
than 40 years and in June of this year would have celebrated their 50th
wedding anniversary. Mrs. Lane received her early education in the Mount
Pleasant Institute, and the Pennsylvania College for Women. She was a
member of the Methodist Espiscopal church and took an active interest in the
church. For 25 years she was treasurer of the Women's Foreign Missionary
Society of the church. Besides her husband she is survived by a sister,
Mrs. Hugh R. Francis, of Greensburg, formerly of Scottdale, and two brothers
Geo. W. Stauffer, of Connellsville, and Jay C. Stauffer, of East
