Herbert was born on December 5th, 1893. He died at the age of 66 on September 28th, 1960.
General Notes
He lived in Mafeking (now part of SA) on a reserve, ie. British land. He retired in 1936 to Umtali, Southern Rhodesia. He had a farm on a piece of land that was in Mozambique, but was leased by Rhodesia. The "farm's" name was "Ellerslie". When they first moved to "Ellerslie" the house was very basic and the garden just bush. Adding on a verandah made from natural stone and laying out the garden greatly improved the appearance of "Ellerslie". When his four children had moved to Salisbury, Rhodesia, Henry and his wife Lillian also moved to Salisbury.
