Carlo was born in 1843 in Vargano, Novara, Italy.  Carlo's father was Serafino Fornara and his mother was Caterina Bisetti.  He was the oldest of four children.  He had a brother and two sisters, named Giovani, Margherita and Adelaide.  He died at the age of 67 in 1910.
