- On Ambrose Mills, B: 1722 he came very young to Maryland, lived a short time on the James River. Va. His first wife died in War with the Indians, 1756-61. He married a second time to a Miss Brown, South Carolina, She daughter of Colonel Brown, Chester, So. Carolina. He is related to Gov. Albert G. Brown, of Mississippi.
According to what I found of that reference, Ambrose and Miss Brown had the following children: William II, Jane, Amanda, and two other children, no names given, but one child married Honor Moor, Second child no name given, but married to a Nancy Jones, Virginia. She is named in a will of the last born son of Ambrose Mills. With Ambrose and first wife, they had William, Major in Army, already gave you those details. Sarah married Asa Edney, named their son Marville Mills Edney, he became a Doctor. According to this information he married his cousin, 7th child of Mourning Mills B 1803 Eliza Eleanor Lewis. Second child of Ambrose and Mourning Mills, Eleanor, she has connections to Washington County. Colonel John Mills, Washington Co., also Rutherford, North Carolina connections. Married Sallie Robertson, Washington County connections. Marville Mills, has also Washington County connections. First Elizabeth daughter, married 1793 Rev. Sam Edney, born 1768.
