Richard and Jane were married in a religious ceremony on March 24th, 1788 in St Peter's Cathedral, Sheffield. They had a son and a daughter, named Samuel and Mary.

Mary was born on February 21st, 1790 and her christening took place on May 2nd, 1790 in Easingwold, Yorkshire. She died at the age of 78 in March 1868.
