Note:
Thomas De Astley in 1210 paid a hundred marks to the crown to be excused from going beyond the sea. Afterward he took up arms against King John, was taken prisoner and his estates confiscated. Later his estates were restored by Henry III. He married Maud, sister of Roger de Camvill.

In 1210 this Thomas paid a hundred marks to the
crown, "to be excused from going beyond the sea," .
it is supposed in a military expedition into Irelan

1215 he was made a prisoner in Bedford Castle and h
estates were confiscated by the crown. When Henry I
came to the throne his territorial possessions were restor
to him in 1216, and he returned to his allegian
to the king.
