Her family operated a noted horse stable in Dallas, Hamilton County, Tennessee, USA. Rick Albright says that as far as he knows that is her hometown. He has no evidence that she was ever anywhere else but in that region of Tennessee. Census records also give Tennessee as her place of birth.
