      She is the daughter of James Hickman, the sister of General Richard Hickman who served as Lieutenant Governor of Ky. under Governor Isaac Shelby 1812-1816 and who ran the state while Shelby was absent in the war.  Her father, James Hickman, is related to the Madison family of Virginia.  James Hickman being a 3d cousin of James Madison, 5th President of the United States of America and also the father of the Constitution of the United States. James Hickman's wife Hannah Lewis, daughter of David Lewis connects to the Lewis' of Virginia including Meriweather Lewis of Lewis and Clark fame and Fielding Lewis the relative by marriage of George Washington and executor of Washington's estate.
