George Booth d 1483 and was s by his eldest son,
Sir William Booth, Knt, who m 1stly Margaret, dau and co-heir of Sir Thomas Assheton, of Ashton-under-Lyne, Lancashire, and of his wife Anne, dau of Ralph, Lord Greystock (see BP 2003, Clitheroe, B), by which marriage a large amount of property came into the possession of the Booth family. He left issue of this marriage,
1a George, his successor.
2a John, m Margery, dau of Sir Piers Dutton, of Dutton, Cheshire (see BP 1970, Sherborne, B), and had issue,
1b William.
2b Robert, steward to the Earl of Shrewsbury.
Sir William Booth m 2ndly Ellen, dau of Sir John Montgomery, of Throwley, Staffordshire, and had issue,
3a William, m -----, dau of ----- Smith, of Leicestershire.
4a Hamnet, m -----, dau of Humphrey Newton.
5a Edward, m Mary, dau and co-heiress of Sir Roger Knutsford, of Twemlow Hall, Cheshire, and had issue,
Sir William [10] Booth (George [9], William [8], Robert [7], John [6], Thomas [5], John [4], Thomas [3], William [2], Adam [1]), of Bolin and Dunham Massey, Knight, was twice married; first to Margarette, daughter and co-heir of Thomas Ashton de Ashton, Lancashire, Underline Knight (by his wife Anue, daughter of Lord Greyslock and Wemm), 'by whom a large inheritance in Lancashire and Cheshire came to the family of Bouthe.' This property was, in1771, in possession of the Countess Dowager of Stamford. Lady Margerette died before 1504, leaving two sons"
"He then married Alionoria (Ellen), daughter andco-heir of Sir John Montgomery, of Kewby in Staffordshire. Sir William Booth died the eleventh year of Henry VIII (19 November, 1519) and was buried at Bowden. By his wife Alionoria (or Ellen) he had eight children."
