Sophia married my father, Rob Perkins, after his second wife, Nora Warren DeSpain died. I believe the marriage was about 1972. They only lived together a short time. She had a place near Mt. Sherman, Kentucky and to keep the insurance current on the place, she was required to live a set amount of time there. She returned to the place and after the required time was up, Pop went to get her. She said she still loved him but had decided not to return with him. Pop saw a lawyer and the marriage was either annulled or they were divorced, I don't know which. Pop died a couple of years later. Sophia was overheard to say, "Well, if I had known he was going to die so soon, I would have stayed with him."
