William Pritchard:
Sergeant William Pritchard of Ipswich and Brookfield, Massachusetts, Frederick C. Warner, The American Genealogist, V38, pg 129-139.
William possessed a house lot and other lands on the south side of the river in Ipswich 9 Apr 1639. Was lving in Lynn on 9 Jul 1645. Was captain of a boat and made a trip to Barbados about 1647. Had a house and lot near the meeting house in Ipswich in 1654. In 1667 William moved his family to the new town of Brookfield where he had the 11th house in the original layout on Foster's Hill. He was chosen Clerk of the Writs. He was 1 of 17 signers of the deed transferring the town's land from the Indians. He was sergeant in the town's militia during the King Phillip's War. William was killed by Indians 2 Aug 1675 when Capt. Thomas Wheeler's Company was ambushed, his son, Samuel, was also killed in the attack outside his father's house. Owned 1/4 of the mill at Brookfield.
