Died of "Cancer in the head." He was survived by daughter (Donna) Mrs. Chester Koning, their 2 children - Jack Koning and (Ann) Mrs. Donald TerHorst. And, 4 great-grandchildren. He left 9 brothers and 2 sisters. He is buried in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.
After wife #1 Pauline Kalkman died, he married #2 Gertrude Jonkers on January 29, 1965 who died in February 1984. Gertrude also died of head cancer.
