John and Phebe were married in a religious ceremony.1 They had four sons and two daughters, named John D., Frederick Sterling, George, Theodore, Elisha and Harriette.

Frederick Sterling was born on May 25th, 1827 in North Canon, Litchfield Co., Connecticut.3 He died at the age of 68 on February 26th, 1896.3
