Roels, Roelf, Roelfs, Roelof, Roals. All spellings have been used. It seems Roels is the correct spelling. Pieter Roels is buried in Pilgrim Cemetery in Holland, Michigan. Came to U.S. in 1892 at the age of 75.
Pieter Roels was a milkman in the Netherlands before he came to U.S. After he came to the U.S., he had a cow and sold milk from pails he carried with a "juk" (wooden yoke) on his shoulders. He also had chickens and sold eggs.
