Settled Rehoboth 1643; rem. Pawtuxet 1646 for religious reasons ( refused to contribute for support of preaching) Was an Independent or Baptist. 1664-1665 Treasurer of Providence, RI and member of town council. 1658 Freeman; mem. of General Court Portsmouth in Aug 1659, 1662, 1663, etc.
5 Feb 1660/1 Edward Inman of Providence sells land to Zachariah Roads of
Pawtuxet, a full right of Comanage.
In Zachariah Rhodes' will: wife Joan(na) executrix he says "to youngest son Peleg, said house and land at decease of his mother, but if it so fall out that my eldest son now living his his grandfather Arnold, be not comfortable provided for and settled upon his grandfather's land after the latter's decease, then my eldest son to have equal share with youngest son, all lands within precincts of Providence, equally divided."
