After retirement of Dr. Moore from Congregational Church -(est 1721) the congregation was fortunate as to unite immediately in giving an unanimous call to Mr. John Nelson to become their minister. Salary at first listed as $450.00 per year. He accepted and was ordained March 4, 1812.
