Thomas Hartshorn of Reading, Massachusetts; Celeste P. Hazen; 1945:
Thomas was in Reading by 1644 settling on Elm Street in 1640. His will is on file in the Middlesex Co. Courthouse #10545. Arrived in Reading, Massachusetts in 1639. Freeman in 1648, Selectman 1661-1667, member of First Church 1649 (Samuel Haugh, pastor). In 1662 he paid the dog whipper, in 1672 he voted to hang any dog whose owner did not pay the dog whipper and in 1650 he received a grant of 10 acres.
