Thomas Fairchild (1610-1670) came from High Laver, County Essex, England. He lived for a time in New Haven, Conn in 1646, and was a founder of Stratford, Conn in 1639 where he was first magistrate of the town, deputy General Court of Conn in 1646, served 11 sessions, appointed by the General Court to press men for the first Narragansett expedition. He married in 1639 Emma Seabrook (1620-post 1658) who was a daughter of Robert Seabrook and Alice Goodspeed. Thomas married a second time in 1662 to the widow Catherine Craig.
