Had a farm and mill on the Norman's Kill (named after him).
Came to Rensselaerswyck from Frederkstadt, Norway with his brother, Arent Andriese, in 1636 on the "Arms of Rensselaerswyck". Arrived at New Amsterdam 3/4/1637 and appeared first at Rensselaerswyck 4/17/1637. One of the oldest and earliest inhabitants of Rensselaerswyck. At time of his his death, he was proprietor of some lots on Manhattan. (Sources 8, 7, 2)
