Mary was born in 1657.1   Mary's father was Thomas Beach and her mother was Sarah Platt.  Her maternal grandparents were Richard Platt and Mary Wood. She had four brothers and a sister, named John, Thomas, Samuel, Zophar and Sarah.  She was the third oldest of the six children. She had four half-sisters named Martha, Mary, Hannah and Deborah.1
