VERONA - Ervin A. Barkhahn, 73, of 3887 Old Sauk Rd., died Thursday (Aug.
23, 1973) in a Madison hospital after a brief illness. He was born in
the Town of Middleton. He married the former Lurene Lappley in 1925. He
was a lifelong farmer and was active in civic affairs in the rural
Middleton Area. He was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church,
Middleton; the Badger State Dahlia Society; the county, state, and
National Holstein Assns.; and past president of the Fitchburg Farm Bureau
Council. Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Alfred Stucki
Jr., Middleton; Mrs. Charles R. Bartholf, Glen Ellyn, Ill.; and Mrs.
Gerald Brace, Middleton; two sisters Mrs. Emil Schewe, Middleton, and
Mrs. Carl J. Schultz, 640 Brooks St., Madison; and seven grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Frautschi Funeral Home,
3610 Speedway Rd., Madison, where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m.
Sunday. Burial will be in the Middleton Junction Cemetery. The family
suggested that memorials be made to the church building fund.
