‌Richard Sawyer and Susan were married in a religious ceremony on March 31st, 1827 in Newburyport, Essex, Massachusetts.  They had seven sons and four daughters, named John, Laban Merrill, John H., Richard Sawyer, Moses, Eben, George F., Lucinda, Susan C., Fannie and Elizabeth.
