Margaret Ann was born about 1840 in Bradford, New Hampshire. Margaret Ann's father was Levi Colby and her mother was Hannah Farson. Her maternal grandparents are Samuel Farson and Hannah Sargent. She had two brothers and a sister, named Moses, Frederick Heauland and Eliza Jane. She is the second oldest of the four children.-
