John "Soft was born on December 24th, 1167 in Beaumont Palace, Oxford, England.  John "Soft's father was Henry II "FitzEmpress" Plantagenet and his mother was Eleanor d'Aquitaine et Poitou.  His paternal grandparents were Geoffrey V "le Bon" Plantagenet and Maud; his maternal grandparents were William of Poitou and Eleanor Rochefoucauld. He had four brothers and three sisters, named William, Henry, Richard I, Geoffrey, Eleanor, Joan and Matilda. He had four half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Geoffrey, Bishop of Durham, William, Philippe II Auguste of, Abbess of Barking, Alix, Marguerite of and Marie.  He died  due to dysentery, though some say he was poisoned at the age of 48 on October 19th, 1216 in Neward, Nottinghamshire, England.  He was buried in Worcester Cathedral, Worcester, England.
