RiCHARD LUMLEY, grandson and heir, being son and heir of Thomas, was aged 30 and more when he succeeded his grandfather. He had a pardon in 1508 from the Bishop of Durham for entering the lands of his grandfather George and Elizabeth his wife without licence; the same year he and his son and heir John were appointed chief foresters of Weardale, and surveyors of the Bishop's
parks, mines of coal, and forges of iron. He was summoned to Parliament from 17 October 1509 to 28 November 1511. He married Anne, sister of William (CONYERS), 1st LORD CONYERS, and daughter of Sir JOHN CONYERS, K.G., of Hornby, Yorks, by Alice, daughter and coh. of William [NEVILLE), EARL OF KENT. He died 26 May 1510. His widow had dower in 1511, and died in 1530. [CP 8:274-5]
