Morris first lived in Tredyffrin in 1739 according to tax records. Hemarried Mary (maiden name unknown) about 1740. She was born about 1714 inAston Twp, Chester Co. He later lived in the vicinity of Conshohocken,Delaware Co., PA. Mattson's Ford Rd runs from the southeast into WestConshohocken where the Mattson relatives owned an early ford across theSchuykill River.
Morris and Mary had ten children. Mary died 18 December 1759 at Edgemont,Chester, PA, and was buried at St. David's Church, Radnor, Delaware, PA.Morris then married Margaret Hill in 1764/65, a recent widow of ThomasYarnall. They had had two children, Mary (b. 1952) and Abigail (b. 1959)
Morris died 5 June 1776 at Village Green, Chester, PA and is buried atSt. David's Episcopal Church next to his wife, Mary. Their gravestones,still standing today, are in a private courtyard under a huge sprucetree. Because there are many tombstone nearby with the surnames Evans andMoore, it is believed Mary's maiden name might have been either of thetwo.

Provides for wife Margaret. To son Levi plantation whereon I now dwell,
he paying my 3 grandchildren Mary, Phebe and William children of son
Moses 10 each, also paying his brother Moses 70, also paying his
brother Aaron 100, also his 2 other brothers Nehemiah and Enoch 100
to be divided. To son Nehemiah tenement and lot of land containing 10
acres, also 1 acre of meadow. To son Enoch tract of land where John
Matson now dwells containing about 60 acres purchased of Geo. Peirce,
also 2 acres of meadow. To 5 daughters Margaret Vernon, Elizabeth
Petterson, Sarah Matson, Mary Ratew and Rachel Matson 30 each and 5
addition to daughter Margaret Vernon for her former kindness unto me.
