His paternal grandparents were Daniel Denny Wilson and Lavina M. Clayton. He has three brothers and three sisters, named John, Daniel D., Thomas E., Mary J., Lilly E. and Margaret L.. He is the third youngest of the seven children. He has five half-brothers named Troy T., Nathenul Bledsoe, Orso, Walter and Lono.-
