Lura Ellen was born on June 13th, 1887 in LaRue Co., Kentucky.1 Lura Ellen's father is Joseph Spalding Wathen and her mother is W. Jemima Warren. Her maternal grandparents were Elzy Warren and Virginia Young Salsman. She had seven brothers named Harvey Elzay, William Henry, Thomas Turner, Marcus Ervin, Joseph Homer, Earl Lee and John Robert. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Harvey Elzay, William Henry and Lura Ellen. She died at the age of 80 on March 4th, 1968.1 General Notes
