Sarah Elizabeth (Sally) Speaks

Sarah Elizabeth (Sally) was born on February 8th, 1836 in Morgan Co., Alabama.¹   Sarah Elizabeth (Sally)'s father was Wiley Speaks and her mother was Mary Elizabeth (Betsey) Murphey.  Her maternal grandfather was James Murphy and her maternal grandmother is Rachel Laine. She had five brothers and two sisters, named Mary Ann, James T., William Asbury, Samuel Jasper, Henrietta C, Martha Ann and Ellen Preston.  She is the third youngest of the eight children.
