Samuel Jasper Speaks

Samuel Jasper was born on April 16th, 1830 in Morgan Co., Alabama.¹   Samuel Jasper's father was Wiley Speaks and his mother was Mary Elizabeth (Betsey) Murphey.  His maternal grandfather was James Murphy and his maternal grandmother is Rachel Laine. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Mary Ann, James T., William Asbury, Henrietta C, Martha Ann, Sarah Elizabeth (Sally) and Ellen Preston.  He was the fourth youngest of the eight children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Hansford and Nancy J..  He died about 1850 in Alabama.¹
