James J. Smith 
James J. was born on February 14th, 1894 in Brown Co., Texas.1 James J.'s father was Eugene Sue Smith and his mother was Telula Turentine Roberts. His maternal grandfather was James R. Roberts and his maternal grandmother is Mahala E. Beezley. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Ollie, Elmer Doss, Johnnie, Alonzo Coy, Beulah Rachel and Genie. He was the second oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 83 in April 1977 in Lubbock Co., Texas.1 -
