James N. 'Jim' Smiley 
James N. 'Jim' was born about 1856.1 James N. 'Jim''s father was William Smiley and his mother was Matilda Basham. His maternal grandparents were Littleberry Basham and Mary (Polly) Basham. He had three brothers and a sister, named Samuel M., Charles L., Robert P. and Sarah Jane. He was the second oldest of the five children. He had nine half-brothers and a half-sister, named Seth W., Abner, Edward Franklin, George, John, Harrison Thomas, Elijah, Benjamin, Sylvester and Louisiana. He died after 1885.1 General Notes

is d ay and date Nov. 27, 1923, make my last will to Louisa F. Smiley my w
if e, 1st I will to her my Real Estate, 2nd my money and bank accoun
t, 3 rd my personal property, my hogs, horses and cattle and everythi
ng th at I have is to be hers after my just debts is paid. She has the w
ri te to dispose of any of the above named property for her support.
I will Jerry D. Gent one Dollar he being our adopted son, my wife h
as t he rite to will to any one any or all the above named property and re
al es tate to get someone to take care of her if she gets disable to work.
